Name: Yui Hirasawa

Canon Point: Post K-ON! movie

Reference: k-on! wikia ; general wikipedia

Setting:
As boring as it sounds, Yui is from regular, present-day Earth. In this world, there isn't any sign of alternate universes, parallel dimensions, magic, superheroes, and the like. Historical figures, events, languages, places, etc. are all the same as in our world, down to the McDonalds a few blocks away. If there are any secret governments or conspiracies, they are sidestepped in the entirety of the canon. Her entire life, Yui has lived in suburban Japan with her younger sister and parents (the latter of which tend to spend their time leaving the former two alone). As far as schooling goes, she's gone to a private all-girls high school and is about to graduate.

Personality:
( r i t s u ) ❛ even though she's like how she looks, carefree and ditz... ❜

Yui is often times absent-minded and a dreamer. She often spends her time looking off into the distance and just questioning things about the world. Often times, her band mates think her to be silly and worry free. Prior to starting high school, she never joined or participated in club activities, never feeling as though it were necessary and rather choosing to simply "bum around at home," maintaining a carefree attitude. In her spare time, Yui prefers to have siestas, especially to escape the summer heat. Laziness is an integral characteristic of Yui, so much so that she, the older sister, has to be taken care of her younger sister, Ui. This includes cooking, cleaning, laundry, and even advice on life.

Sleeping is one of her innermost joys, right next to eating delicious sweets. Ever since the inception of the light music club, Yui found herself coming back for the sweets that her friend, Mugi, would provide. Be it a gourmet cake, Madelines, a chocolate cupcake, or just the traditional cup of tea, Yui has a tendency for finding her motivation for doing much anything in food. Her love for food seemed to spread to the others in the club since it began to interfere with practicing songs for important performances.

( m u g i ) ❛she always tries her very best... ❜

No matter what Yui does, she always tries her best...down to a flaw. Initiallly when Yui was first learning how to play the guitar, she found it to be incredibly challenging. Literally, she had no musical background and initially wanted to quit the club itself because she thought it was a mistake. As time went on though, she grew and started to work hard towards learning various techniques. Early on, she was met with challenges. Yui's neighbor always said if Yui "learned one thing, she forgot another." This became particularly evident when Yui focused so hard on learning how to play the guitar that she forgot to study for a math exam, resulting in her being the only student to have to retake it. After an intense study session, she not only passed the exam but got a perfect score on the exam. Clearly once Yui puts her mind to something, she accomplishes it. However, this success came at a cost - she had forgotten all the strings she had learned prior to the exam. Of course she got better at balancing things as time went on. Well, kind of.

During her senior year, Yui was consistently confused about her future plans, not knowing what she wanted to do with her life, whether to get a job or apply to college and if she did go to college, which ones she should apply to. Eventually deciding to go to a fairly high ranking all-girls private university with the other girls in her club, she buckled down and studied hard for weeks. This effort paid off as she was able to gain admissions when she put her mind to it.

( m i o ) ❛ and brings energy to the others... ❜

As a young girl with a short-attention span, a childlike personality, and an overactive imagination, coupled with a slight sense of shamelessness, Yui is the energy behind the light music club.

When Yui initially decided to join the club, she imagined that the club was actually full of hardcore rocker musicians who wore insane costumes, when in actuality they were similar to Yui. Thus when she decided to quit, she was absolutely terrified.

Her emotions tend to fluctuate fairly quickly and dramatically. One moment she might be excited and happy while the next, she has totally forgotten about it. A good instance of this is when she wanted to get a specific Japanese dish at a festival but it was sold out. Upon discovery of this, she had lost all motivation to do anything and wanted to go home. After some coaxing and a promise for sweets later on, she resumed her typical cheerful and airy self. Likewise when Yui would rather be sleeping than practicing her guitar, the threat of losing her "dessert privileges" snaps her out of it.

Before performances, Yui would provide the comedy while MCing. While not caring if she makes a fool of herself (or maybe not recognizing it as such), Yui is able to hype up the audience as well as her fellow bandmates. She does this prior to key performances, including at school festivels and opening ceremonies, though with a bit of failure during the performance in London as a result of language barriers.

( a z u s a ) ❛ she's very, very reliable. ❜

Her caring and compassionate nature provides a sense of rootedness for the light music club and her friends as a whole. When Ritsu became disheartened for not being in the spotlight like the other girls, Yui became willing to learn how to play the drums, purely for the sake of Ritsu's happiness. She figured that the continuation of the club and being able to play music with her friends held higher priority than playing the instrument she loved (and literally slept with every night, sometimes even comparing it to her lover). Also, when Mio got the role of Romeo in the school play, she tried her best to help her overcome her stage fright by working in a café alongside her, despite the lack of success. At one point, Yui realized how much her sister really did for her and how much she meant to her which resulted in her writing an entire song for Ui called 'U and I.' It conveyed her appreciation for Ui to other individuals in her life.

( t u s h a n s h u ) ❛ on the shores of a new world. ❜

Once accustomed, Yui probably won't be so threatened by the idea of being on Tu Vishan but initally she'll be inclined to believe the plane she was on crashed into the ocean. The kedan's explanation of life/death/etc. will go over her head since she's not the most abstract thinker. The canon point she's coming from is when she and the other light club members are returning to Japan from London and the last thing she remembers is dozing off on the plane.

Appearance:
Yui is a young, Japanese girl with a height of around 61 inches and a weight of 110 pounds. She has shoulder-length, brown hair with bangs that are typically parted to the left and two yellowish-orange hairpin holding her hair in place. Additionally, she maintains a round face and fairly lean body that sometimes results in being mistaken for being younger than she actually is. Suite:
WO-2B please (if possible)! ; Wood because Yui tends to be absent-minded a large portion of the time and tends not to conflict with others so long as other individuals don't impede on her eating sweets. As for floor count, two would be a safe bet because Yui tends to accumulate a large number of useless things over time.

Third Person:
It was the first day of a new school term but as usual, she mistakenly set her alarm clock to go off too early. Things like that always happened to her; technology wasn't usually on her side. That is, except Giita. Plugging the cable into the amp, Yui strummed once, testing the sound before she continued further. Perfectly tuned. Newly replaced strings. She was ready to perform. Taking a bite from the warm toast, she began.

How was it?
That night I had you on my mind
This feeling
I’ll try writing it down in a letter

This feeling, playing her guitar, singing from her heart, eating her favorite breakfast - it was heaven. At this point, she was in her own world, a world that made more sense than what she'd be learning in class later on or thinking about college or the school festival that would be coming up. It was a world that Yui was in control of.

Perhaps
Maybe this is just a whim
But even so it’s only a few sheets
I have to keep writing!

Just sitting on one of the school's couches, strumming at her guitar, she felt as though she were on the greatest stages in the world, performing in front of an audience screaming her name. After all, that's how she started with the light music club. That original dream was still very much alive for Yui. Someday she would be with her four friends, performing at Budokan. Ritsu and Mio were going on and on about some rock bands that had played there before. The one that sounded like a bug...The Beatles?

To Yui, it didn't matter. In her heart, she knew Afterschool Teatime was the best band. As long as she was doing what she loved with her friends, she was content and nothing could surpass them.

Network:
( an airy voice comes on, sounding as if still in the middle of a daydream )

So we're on a giant turtle then? The shopkeeper who gave me directions explained it to me...maybe he's Ton-chan's great, great, great, great, grandpa or something! Oh yeah, Ton-chan is a pseudo soft-shelled turtle! His nose looks like a little pig snout.

I wish I could have bought him with me - he would have probably liked to meet umm...what did they call him again...hmmmm.....well, I'll call him Mister Ton-chan for now I guess.

( it cuts off for a few minutes. when it turns back on, it's video now and a very fearful and serious yui can be seen )

Has anyone heard from my friends? Mio, Mugi, Ritsu, and Azu-nyan? Mister Ton-chan is so big and I don't know how I'll find them...( she begins to cry ) I just hope they're okay.
